A salty yogurt or buttermilk drink

Namkin lassi

Lassi is the most favorite drink in India. It is highly valued there for its wonderful taste and nutritional value. When you need to prepare a drink for a large group of people, there is nothing better than lassi, because it is very quickly prepared. You can make it in advance and leave it to cool.  Vegetariškos Vakarienės Receptai

1 teaspoon sh. roasted and ground cumin seeds

4 cups (950 mL) yogurt or soured buttermilk

3 cups (700 mL) of water

3 tablespoons of lemon juice

2 teaspoons sh. salt

crushed ice (optional)

Set aside a pinch of ground cumin and mix all the remaining ingredients together with a whisk or electric mixer. Pour the mixture into glasses (you can add crushed ice). Sprinkle with a pinch of ground cumin. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

If you add 25 g of fresh mint leaves, the drink will be tastier. Set aside a few mint leaves for garnish. Blend all the remaining ingredients (except the ice) in a blender for about 30 seconds until the mint leaves are well blended. Add crushed ice and shake again until the drink starts to foam.

You can make a simple lassi with yogurt (or buttermilk), ground cumin and water  . Beat everything with a whisk or an electric mixer until you get a liquid of homogeneous consistency. Pour into glasses with crushed ice and serve.
