Software Defined Radios is actually radio communications systems that are enabled by using software rather than hardware. This allows for many more channels to be used at the same time without interference from other nearby devices. Because the approach is transparent to the consumer, SDRs permit for a greater number of potential users at the exact same time without sacrificing the quality of the transmitted signals.
