Didn't the older demo discs only give you like just one or two levels to perform ? 35 gigs and you cant even alter settings. However one difficulty I have had with games/communities is that this idea that everyone would like to max or that maxing is somehow"the point" of this game. Coming from a Dungeons and Dragons background (which much of early RS was very much based on) I've never had a campaign in which our party made it beyond level 10. Even with just like 3 decades of playing the exact same character. Building a character and fleshing them out durning the early levels is super rewarding and the seeming impossibility of attaining the top echelons makes the world seem vast and incredible. I made so many different characters back in pre-eoc because I actually embraced the Role-Playing aspect of this MMORPG. I would just set myself unique challenges or have a particular theme for the character. Nowit feels like everything is about ending game content/maxing. Sure, after nearly two decades there must be a lot of end game content. But it feels like that is all the community is centered on.

My primary account is a pure f2p in rs3 with a few 99s and a couple more not away. I quit the game for a period of about five years and returned last October. Pretty much everyone I knew in the f2p community which still plays has maxed and is now just grinding out virtual 120s/200m. Or maxing again on another/Ironman account.
